Ellenville- Entering LA CAFE is a pleasure in itself...Soul stirring smells, nice music, a friendly face. Meet Lamont of LA CAFE, a cool dude, a great cook. Lamont was glad to take me down the list of food he served...from Soul food like fried chicken, fish, and pork chops to Latin food like Pasteles (green bananas), pastelillos (beef or chicken patties), and Bistec Encebollado (steak and onions). There's always something good cook'in. LA CAFE even sells coffee...for those who want to sit down and enjoy the view (village square). Or one could just sit at the counter and watch news or sports on the flat-screen. Lamont wants the public to know that catering is available for your Community Organizations, Churches or Sports Teams. After ordering fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and some collard greens....I really had to thank Lamont, the food was soooo good!!! As always, BUY LOCAL!!!
